About the Opportunity
A consumer packaged goods (CPG) company is seeking a Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager to support year-end close, audit readiness, and a transition to NetSuite. This is an immediate-start contract-to-hire role that is hands-on and ideal for someone who is comfortable stepping into an environment with evolving processes.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead audit preparation and assist with schedules and supporting documentation for the upcoming audit.
+ Perform balance sheet reconciliation cleanup, ensuring all accounts are properly supported.
+ Support the NetSuite implementation (targeted go-live mid-February), including data clean-up, testing, and system mapping from QuickBooks.
+ Assist in improving month-end close workflows, policies, and procedures.
+ Partner with the Controller and outsourced AP/AR team to resolve issues and ensure timely, accurate postings.
+ Address gaps in order-to-cash and procure-to-pay activities, including AP aging, AR clean-up, trade spend, and inventory-related reconciliations.
+ Support ad hoc projects and operational accounting needs related to year-end and audit timelines.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
+ Enjoys cleaning up accounts and building structure around accounting processes.
+ Operationally minded accountant with an understanding of CPG fundamentals (inventory, trade spend, EDI workflows).
+ Comfortable working in an environment where processes and systems are in transition.
+ Direct, proactive communicator who can “take it and run” with minimal oversight.
+ Flexible and team-oriented, able to support both recurring tasks and short-term projects.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
+ 5–10+ years of hands-on accounting experience; CPG, retail, or inventory-heavy environments preferred.
+ Strong background in audit readiness, reconciliations, and month-end close.
+ Experience with NetSuite (implementation or optimization) strongly preferred; QuickBooks and tools like Bill.com or Ramp are a plus.
+ Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and outsourced teams.
+ Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
