Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract to permanent role in Jacksonville, Florida. This position will primarily manage essential accounting functions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting internal controls.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare daily cash reports, analyze quarterly cash flow, and oversee sales tax compliance and reporting.

• Manage project accounting and assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, including public company filings.

• Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to enhance financial planning and auditing processes.

• Handle month-end and quarter-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

• Evaluate and optimize accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency.

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments while maintaining organized records.

• Manage accounts receivable activities, including processing and collections.

• Prepare detailed financial statements and reports for senior management review.

• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and external audits.

• Support payroll processing and related activities when needed.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, with a bachelor's in accounting or finance.

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Experience in general accounting and project/cost accounting.

• Strong ERP experience, Great Plains a plus but not required.
