Director of Finance Transformation
Position Summary
The Director of Finance Transformation will lead strategic initiatives to modernize and optimize finance systems, processes, and analytics across a global enterprise. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations , ERP architecture, financial data integration, and change management. The ideal candidate will drive operational efficiencies, implement automation, and deliver advanced analytics to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Leadership & Finance Systems
+ Lead and manage ERP strategy, design, and deployment with a primary focus on D365 F&O and adjacent systems.
+ Oversee configuration, testing, and implementation of new companies in UAT and production environments; successfully stood up 250+ companies in D365 over three years.
+ Manage D365 modules and functions including: General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Bank & Cash Management, Project Accounting, Electronic Reporting, global master data, customized security design, company setup, environment maintenance, batch jobs, and VAT compliance for UK and other European countries.
+ Utilize tools such as HSO’s Axtend, Microsoft Data Management Projects, and Interactive Excel to streamline maintenance, interface support, data migration, and new company setups.
+ Monitor and manage ERP support ticket volume to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Process Transformation & Automation
+ Standardize close procedures, reporting policies, and finance controls across global operations.
+ Streamline back-office processes (AP, AR, payroll, treasury) through automation and systems integration.
+ Implement cost accounting processes within D365 project module to enhance accounting controls, working capital management, and margin analytics.
+ Partner with senior leadership to identify and execute process improvement and automation opportunities across accounting and purchasing functions.
Analytics, KPIs & Reporting
+ Define and implement standardized financial and operational KPIs.
+ Build advanced dashboards (Power BI/Tableau) with drill-down capabilities for real-time insights.
+ Apply AI/ML for forecasting, anomaly detection, and automation .
+ Use Python scripting for advanced data analysis and reporting .
Consulting & Change Leadership
+ Act as internal consultant to accounting and operations teams on topics including general and cost accounting, consolidation, purchasing, and manufacturing.
+ Deliver finance training and change management programs to support global upskilling initiatives.
+ Mentor team members and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
Supervisory Responsibilities
+ Interview, hire, train, and manage employees.
+ Oversee performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (required); MBA or Master’s degree (preferred).
+ CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification (strongly preferred).
+ 10+ years in finance, accounting, or consulting, with 5+ years leading finance transformation in a global environment.
+ Extensive experience with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations .
+ Familiarity with consolidation/forecasting tools (BPC, OneStream, Anaplan).
+ Experience with data warehousing and ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory).
+ Exposure to Python and AI/ML in finance .
+ Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau.
+ Knowledge of RPA and process digitization.
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeport, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $90.00/hr.
