Job Title: Collections Specialist
Job Description
As a Collections Specialist, you will communicate with consumers via phone and approved written correspondence to resolve unpaid accounts. You will provide thorough, efficient, and accurate updates to account files for each interaction, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the collections industry. This role requires strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you will perform other duties as assigned by management.
Responsibilities
+ Communicate with consumers to resolve unpaid accounts via phone and approved written correspondence.
+ Provide accurate and efficient updates to account files for each interaction.
+ Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local collections regulations.
+ Demonstrate strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
+ Customer service expertise.
+ Experience in call center environments.
+ Data entry proficiency.
+ Ability to type and talk simultaneously.
+ Comfortability speaking on the phone.
+ Experience in collections customer service and collection calls.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure data protection.
+ Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasked, team-oriented environment.
+ Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
+ Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
+ English required; bilingual candidates preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment is a flexible and comfortable setting, fostering a strong family-type atmosphere. Many team members have been with the company for over 20 years, highlighting the supportive and stable nature of the workplace. The position offers room for growth, extensive training, and the opportunity to work independently without micromanagement. The work schedule is 5 days in the office: 8am-5pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-4pm on Friday. You will be part of a team of 13 collection specialists and 1 manager. Additionally, there are opportunities to earn extra monthly bonuses based on performance.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
