Job Title: Outpatient Facility Coder (Remote)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Facility Coder to join our team. This fully remote role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong coding expertise in outpatient facility services. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate code assignment, compliance with regulatory standards, and contribute to efficient revenue cycle processes.

Essential Job Duties:

+ Review outpatient medical records (patient histories, diagnoses, treatment plans) to extract pertinent information for coding.

+ Assign accurate ICD and CPT codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered.

+ Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, conventions, and HIPAA regulations.

+ Utilize coding references, software tools, and EHR systems for efficient code assignment.

+ Maintain high accuracy to prevent claim denials and billing errors.

+ Stay current with coding changes, industry trends, and regulatory updates.

+ Collaborate with providers and billing staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding queries.

+ Participate in ongoing education and certification programs.

+ Conduct audits and quality assurance reviews to monitor coding accuracy.

+ Generate reports and provide coding-related data analysis.

+ Support external audits and assist with coding-related software updates.

Required Qualifications:

+ 3+ years in an acute care hospital setting with outpatient facility experience.

+ Recent experience coding outpatient facility procedures such as Observation, Same-Day Surgery, Ancillary, ER/ED, Labs, and Wound Care.

+ Required Certification: CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCS-P, or CCA.

Details:

+ Pay: $30 - $34/hr. based on related experience

+ Pay cycle – weekly | medical, dental & vision benefits offered

+ 100% remote – must provide your own equipment

+ Schedule: Monday – Friday | flexible start times post training (40 hours per week)

+ Full time – PRN is not offered.

+ States Eligible: MD, PA, DC, WV, VA, TN, TX, NC, SC, GA, FL

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
