    The Senior Commodity Buyer – Stampings and Stainless-Steel Components plays a key role in developing and executing sourcing strategies across assigned categories. This position focuses on managing total cost, assessing category and supplier risks, and building strong, collaborative supplier partnerships. The role serves as the category expert by evaluating technologies, materials, and market trends. Success depends on close collaboration with product line sourcing, technology, product management, manufacturing operations, quality, and materials teams to optimize total cost and support new product introductions.

    How You'll Create Possibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop, lead, and execute sourcing strategies for stampings and stainless-steel component categories by analyzing global markets and managing the supply base.

    + Serve as the category expert in stampings, with knowledge of technology, materials, market trends, and the competitive landscape.

    + Manage supplier relationships across commercial and supply chain activities, including NPI support, issue resolution, and supplier process improvements.

    + Negotiate and implement supply agreements designed to ensure a sustainable and cost-effective supply.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve goals related to Material Cost Takeout, Quality, Delivery, and Cash.

    + Identify, prioritize, and execute sourcing projects in the stampings commodity area.

    + Utilize strong supplier relationships to resolve critical supply issues across manufacturing sites.

    + Support supplier innovation efforts to enhance cost efficiency and product performance.

    + Serve as the liaison between Sourcing, internal stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure alignment with program and NPI objectives.

     

    What You'll Bring to Our Team

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, management, or a related field.

    + 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, program management, commodity management, or related roles involving negotiation, supplier selection, or contract implementation (leadership programs included).

    + Proven experience leading projects with measurable impact.

    + Strong project management and execution skills.

    + Effective verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills with a global mindset.

    + Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management.

    + Ability to travel 10–20% domestic and international travel required for supplier and plant visits.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + SCDP graduate.

    + Master’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related discipline.

    + Experience implementing and using Artificial Intelligence tools and analytics to optimize procurement strategy, supplier performance, and cost management.

    + Experience in purchasing, program management, or commodity buying.

    + Experience supporting New Product Introductions (NPI).

    + Prior sourcing experience with a global supplier base.
