Description
This position works with the Executive Director to help drive calendarized and non⁃calendarized initiatives within the Estée Lauder Brand. Works closely with the Director on the innovation of quality products that meet brand strategy and insure the successful launch of new products.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
+ Work closely with their manager to help drive assigned calendarized launches in all stages from concept to on⁃counter.
+ Evaluate all products submissions on a timely basis. Communicate desired modifications to the lab via product submission form.
+ Manage the product development process as follows:(1) Organization for all benchmark submissions, standards, and other related products (2) Actively participate in research of new product ideas (visual and literal) (3) Responsible for preparing presentation boards/PowerPoint presentations (4) Support in preparation of product profiles (5) Prepare Product Fact Sheets to initiate development activities (6) With team/manager, Evaluate lab, FVL, pilot and first production batches and send a file written responses to R&D (7) Help support manager in the development of clinical test plans, sensory test plans, claims lists, component ordering for testing (8) Manage product meeting samples with Marketing, GBSC and R&D.
+ Conduct panel tests and create questionnaires, analyze data, and give direction to the lab / initiate expert panel testing when needed.
+ Works with manager to help create product fact sheets/profiles to capture all development needs including product technologies, positioning, and claims. Develop slides for cross⁃functional turnover presentations related to the product profiles.
+ Work with manager to create claims dossiers and see them through the review and approval process.
+ Works with manager to put together presentations and conduct research on new ingredients, products etc.
+ Research competitive marketplace for new products, research consumer use of products, analysis of competitive products/claims.
+ Assist manager with the development of new product concepts that fit with need⁃gaps in the line or new business opportunities.
+ Be a team player with Marketing, Packaging and R&D aiding in each step of the development process.
+ Participate in all team calls, including R&D status, Clinical status, Legal status, GPPD, GBSC, Regional Conference Calls (when appropriate) with or in place of manager when necessary, and track/follow⁃up on any key action points stemming from these calls.
+ Work hand in hand with peers in Education, Creative and Consumer Relations, and thoroughly review all their materials.
+ Travel to Estee Lauder R&D facility to work with the Lab and PD team as needed.
+ Read magazine and journals (as well as online blogs, industry newsletters, competitive sites, etc.) to keep abreast of competitive product launches and new technologies.
+ Follow up in the coordination of all packaging issues.
+ Keep manager informed of project details and escalate project risks in a timely manner.
Qualifications
+ Undergraduate College degree.
+ 4+ years relevant experience; skincare background preferred.
+ Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through skills with a keen eye for detail.
+ Ability to think creatively and brainstorm new approaches, ingredients, or ideas.
+ Multi-functional, flexible to handle ever changing priorities.
+ Strong skills in tactile/aesthetic evaluation of cosmetic products as well as the ability to communicate product understanding.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Pay Range:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is **$85,000.00** **to** **$139,000.00** **.** Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
