    Special Education Teacher | School-Based | San Antonio, TX | Full-Time | 36-Week Contract | $47/hr

     

    Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide quality services to students in grades K–9. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will plan and implement individualized student programs, provide special instruction, tutorial assistance, and collaborate with general education staff.

    Position Overview

    + Location: San Antonio, TX

    + Start Date: December 15, 2025

    + End Date: May 23, 2026

    + Duration: 36 weeks

    + Openings: 1 position available

    + Grade Level: K–9

    + Classroom Type: ALE Resource and Inclusion

    + Classroom Support: 2 SPED assistants + 1 BT provided

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

    + Hours per Week: 37

    + Modality: In-person

    + Interview Process: Virtual interviews available

    + Pay Rate: $47/hour

    Responsibilities

    + Provide instruction and case management for K–9 students

    + Implement individualized education programs (IEPs)

    + Collaborate with general education staff and classroom support teams

    + Deliver special instruction and tutorial assistance

    + Support behavior management and student success

    + Document student progress in compliance with professional standards

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

    + Valid Texas Special Education teaching certificate (required)

    + At least one year of teaching experience (preferred)

    + Certifications: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

    + Current CPR certification, if applicable

    + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable

    + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
