  • ASIC Library Characterization Engineer

    CTG (Rochester, MN)

    Apply Now

CTG is seeking an ASIC Library Characterization Engineer to support advanced ASIC development for next-generation computing systems. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in deep-technical environments and want ownership over library development, automation, and mixed-signal integration.

**Location:** Rochester, MN (preferred), open to remote

    **Duration:** 6 months

    Why This Role Stands Out

You’ll work on highly advanced ASIC technology supporting cutting-edge hardware systems—with the opportunity to influence library quality, modeling standards, and automation used across full-chip flows.

    What You’ll Do

    • Characterize standard cells and analog/mixed-signal IP for timing, power, and noise

    • Build and maintain Liberty (.lib) files, LEF/abstract views, and DFT/Verilog models

    • Develop custom automation flows using Python, Tcl, Perl, Bash, or SKILL

    • Define constraints and validate models for analog/mixed-signal IP

    • Troubleshoot complex timing, noise, and power issues

    • Collaborate across design teams to ensure high-quality, tape-out-ready deliverables

    What You Bring

    • 5+ years in ASIC library characterization or physical design

    • Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso and Innovus

    • Strong scripting skills (Python, Tcl, Perl, Bash, SKILL)

    • Understanding of Liberty, LEF, hard-macro abstractions, and digital/AMS modeling

    • Verilog/SystemVerilog proficiency (VHDL acceptable)

    • Experience with flow automation, timing/noise analysis, or AMS hardening is a plus

    Education

    • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

CTG does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services for this role.
