Community Hospital Corporation (CHC), a DFW Top 100 Employer, is looking for an experienced Network Engineer. The Network Engineer works under the guidance and direction of the Corporate IT Operations Manager and works closely with Systems Administrators and/or Network Administrators within CHC Corporate, LTACHs, and STACHs to provide assistance and to coordinate data and wireless networks engineering and management activities. The Network Engineer III also supports the Vice President of Regional Information Technology with assigned network support tasks and projects.

The Network Engineer role is to ensure the smooth, efficient, stable and secure operation of CHC and supported hospitals’ computer networks. The Network Administrator designs, installs, configures, supports, optimizes, maintains, and evaluates networks and telecommunication systems.
This position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to technical resources and subject matter experts to resolve issues and implement solutions. Work is performed with little supervision and requires high levels of self-motivation and self-management. This position requires the ability to parallel task multiple projects or requests.
Responsibilities:
+ Manages all aspects of network equipment including routers, proxies, switches, wireless, DNS and DHCP
+ Monitors, tests and analyzes network performance across supported LANs, WANs, and wireless infrastructure to ensure the stable and efficient performance
+ Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
+ Manages network equipment including routers, firewalls, and switches
+ Manages procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation and maintenance
+ Performs maintenance of network asset inventory and related diagrams and documentation
+ Implements and maintains network related disaster recovery plan elements
+ Managing and scheduling upgrades
+ Investigating root cause of network faults
+ Provides on-call technical support
Requirements
Experience and Education
+ Requires a Degree in Information Technology Field or the equivalent in education, certifications and related network management and engineering experience
+ 3-5 years’ experience in network management
+ Experience maintaining computer networks in a mid to large scale environment required
+ 2 years’ experience in Cisco/Meraki network planning and design
+ CCNA, CCNP, CWNA certifications preferred
+ Healthcare experience preferred
Skills and Knowledge
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture (LAN/WLAN/WAN)
+ Experience developing the network strategy, capacity planning, selection of hardware/software
+ Passionate about security and data protection in community hospitals
+ Solid background in network administration and architecture
+ In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
+ Familiarity with access control models and network security
+ Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
+ Solid understanding of network operating systems
+ Customer service approach and skills
+ Ability to work independently while keeping team informed
+ Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
+ Requires independent analysis, communication and problem solving
+ Possess critical thinking skills to analyze and solve complex problems
+ Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and network standards
Physical/Mental Stress Factors
+ Ability to sit, speak, hear, walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds
+ Ability to focus at the computer monitor and type on a keyboard for several hours
