SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting the Supervisor with day-to-day operations of the department to maximize quality output. The Group Leader must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the department. This position also supports judgements regarding scheduling, work priorities, and material availability & quality; handling employee concerns; applying rational systems to solve practical problems; dealing with a variety of concrete variables with only limited standardization; and interpreting a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, and/or schedule instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Ability to perform and demonstrate most tasks of the department.
+ Demonstrate understanding of standard, equipment, tools, and production flow to generate process improvement
+ Offer guidance and coaching to improve team member performance through day-to-day feedback and creating a supportive and inclusive environment
+ Mentor and assist in training new team members.
+ Monitor and adjust workflow to meet the requirements of the schedule.
+ Assist in the implementation of production policies and procedures.
+ Assign work and lead by example through hands-on work.
+ Assist in product inspections and evaluate the quality of the work prior to the product leaving the area.
+ Ability to interact with customers and customer representatives in a professional manner consistent with company practices.
+ Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills while working directly with all levels of the organization to include but not limited to production team members, upper management, and human resources.
+ Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards
+ All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
+ 6 months or more experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Previous leadership experience
+ Associate or trade certificate(s) related to the job function
+ Computer literate with Microsoft office
WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ **Physical Demands:** Frequent: Standing, Walking, Reaching, Hearing, Talking, Visual; Occasional: Climbing, Sitting, Lifting/Carrying up to 35lbs., Pushing/Pulling up to 50lbs and up to 30lbs sustained.
+ **Non-Physical Demands** : Occasional: Analysis/Reasoning, Communication/Interpretation, Math/Mental Computation, Reading
+ **Environmental Demands:** Occasional: Frequent Task Changes, Tedious/Exacting Work, Dust, Temperature Extremes, Loud Noises, Heavy Equipment and Trucks Operating in Immediate Area
+ **Work Schedule:** Routine shift hours. frequent overtime
