Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer Lead is responsible for coordinating and leading electrical engineering activities across assigned projects. This role provides advanced technical expertise in the design, review, development, installation, and testing of electrical systems, components, and equipment. The Electrical Engineer Lead works across multiple engineering disciplines, serves as a primary reviewer on electrical documentation, and ensures all deliverables meet project requirements, applicable codes, and safety standards.
The Lead collaborates with internal stakeholders, contractors, and subject matter experts to support timely and cost-effective project outcomes.
Primary Job Functions
+ Leads electrical engineering tasks, including reviewing electrical plans, drawings, and designs to ensure sites can support project equipment and infrastructure.
+ Coordinates and collaborates across SMEs, engineering trades, and project stakeholders to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve design conflicts or technical issues.
+ Oversee engineering activities related to the research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, and systems.
+ Reviews and develop electrical and electronic specifications, statements of work, DIDs, and other technical documentation to ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
+ Assists in planning, scheduling, and coordinating engineering workloads; monitors progress against schedules, estimates, and technical milestones.
+ Provides technical guidance and work direction to engineering staff.
+ Recommends process specifications, design standards, improvements to engineering methods, workflows, and documentation practices.
+ Ensuring all work follows safety guidelines, quality expectations, and applicable electrical codes and standards.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
+ **REQUIRED:** Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
+ **REQUIRED:** 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience including project- based work in design, installation, or maintenance of electrical systems.
+ Preferred: 2+ years prior experience proving technical guidance or serving in a lead/senior engineering role
+ Preferred: Project Management certification (PMP)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, electrical codes and design practices.
+ Proficiency reviewing and interpreting electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, specifications, and technical submittals.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex engineering challenges.
+ Ability to guide, mentor, and support engineering staff without direct supervisory authority.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with project managers, contractors, clients, and cross-functional teams.
+ Skilled in managing multiple priorities, tracking deliverables, and maintaining schedule commitments.
+ Proficiency with engineering software, modeling tools, and general business software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
+ Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Working Conditions
+ Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
Travel Requirements
+ Occasional Travel (up to 25%)
