Description
Position Summary:
The Housing Locator for the Bridges to Success program is responsible for identifying, securing, and maintaining relationships with property owners and managers to provide safe and affordable housing opportunities for program participants. This position also supports the financial coordination of housing placements by processing check requests, making rent payments, managing documentation related to rental payments, and coordinating with case managers after clients are housed to ensure housing stability and program compliance.
Essential Job Functions:
• Identify, develop, and maintain positive relationships with landlords and property managers to expand housing opportunities for Bridges to Success participants.
• Maintain an updated database of available rental units suitable for program clients.
• Conduct housing searches with clients and assist with rental applications, lease signings, and move-in coordination.
• Conduct inspections of housing units to ensure they meet program and habitability standards prior to move-in and as needed thereafter.
• Negotiate rental terms and address any issues that may arise between landlords and tenants to promote housing stability.
• Process application fees and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions related to housing placements.
• Prepare and submit check requests for deposits, rent, and other approved housing-related costs in accordance with program policies.
• Make rent and deposit payments and maintain organized, complete records of all payment-related documentation.
• Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure timely and accurate processing of check requests and payments.
• Collaborate with case managers after clients are housed to support ongoing stability, landlord communication, and resolution of housing concerns.
• Monitor and track housing placements, landlord participation, and housing outcomes for reporting purposes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client housing files and documentation consistent with program and funding requirements.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and community housing networking events as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Bridges to Success program and its participants.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Associate’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of one year of experience in housing services, property management, case management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of local rental market conditions, landlord/tenant laws, fair housing regulations, and basic housing quality standards.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and financial processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with landlords, clients, and staff.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Education and Experience Requirements
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Associate’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Working Conditions:
+ Work is primarily performed in an office setting;
+ Some travel is required; and
+ Some outdoor activities may be required

+ Occasional lifting of more than 10 pounds;
