As the Director of Executive Communications, you will lead and drive an integrated executive communications program in support of The SVP and GM of Splunk. You will collaborate with colleagues across Global Communications, Splunk Products and Technology, and the broader company to ensure messaging is consistently aligned and impactful.
You will be responsible for developing a strategic narrative that excites and inspires both internal and external audiences. You will employ a wide range of messaging platforms and channels including internal meetings (employee and executive leadership), press and analyst engagements, customer engagements, social media, newsletters, and events.
This role requires regular collaboration with senior leaders across the company. Key partners may vary by project but often include other General Managers/BE leaders, sales, global events, and marketing teams.
This role can be performed from any location within the United States
Your Impact
+ Lead strategic executive communications support for the SVP and GM of the Splunk business entity.
+ Lead the development and execution of a coordinated communications strategy, messaging, and plan that is aligned tothe organization’s business goals outcomes, and priorities and engages customers, partners, and employees.
+ Lead the team that creates internalmessages, presentations, keynotes and thought leadership for senior leadership within the organization.
+ Collaborate with Splunk organizations to synthesize product and innovation strategies and vision into a clear long-term strategic storyline that showcases current value propositions.
+ Provide strategic counsel to the SVP and GM to help shape theircommunication style, develop key messages, and prepare for important internal and external engagements.
+ Partner with the Global Communications colleagues to develop externalnarratives, presentations, blogs, bylined articles, speaking opportunities and more.
+ Collaborate with other executive leadership communications teams to drive and align consistent messaging and content.
+ Lead social media strategy and execution for the SVP and GM of Splunk Business Entity
Minimum Qualifications** ** ** **
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience
+ 12+ years of executive communications or related experience
+ Experience leading executive communications for enterprise technology leaders
Preferred** **Qualifications
+ Expertise in translating complex technology, business, and product topics into impactful executive communications and strategic narratives for diverse audiences
+ Exceptionalwritten and verbal communication skills
+ Proven track record in developing strategic executive communications and supporting materials, including emails, blogs, articles, newsletters, presentations, executive meeting and event preparation
+ Experience collaborating with senior leaders and teams to build alignment, trust, and strong cross-functional relationships
+ Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively deliver results, and operate successfully in ambiguous situations
+ Experience in both strategic and creative communications, with a portfolio of executive-level written and presentation work
+ Prior experience or knowledge of security, observability and AI technologies is preferred
+ Passion for enterprise technology and emerging technology trends

The starting salary range posted for this position is $230,000.00 to $289,800.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.
Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The full salary range for certain locations is listed below. For locations not listed below, the recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
+ 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees
+ 1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco
+ Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees
+ Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
+ 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
+ Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
+ Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
+ .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
+ 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
+ 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
+ Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, are listed below:
New York City Metro Area:
$230,000.00 - $333,300.00
Non-Metro New York state & Washington state:
$207,000.00 - $300,000.00
* For quota-based sales roles on Cisco’s sales plan, the ranges provided in this posting include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.
** Employees in Illinois, whether exempt or non-exempt, will participate in a unique time off program to meet local requirements.
