Responsiblities
The Data Integration Group is looking for a Senior Data Analyst who will support the Enterprise Infrastructure Programs (EIP) generation of an Integrated Master Schedule, KPI metrics, dashboards and reports that will enable data-driven decisions and efficient work-flow management. Key responsibilities will include leading data improvement initiatives, design and operation. This role requires expertise in data mining, modeling, validation, analysis, and visualization to serve as the data liaison for EIP.
Key Responsibilities
+ Serve as a single point of contact for EIP data.
+ Take ownership of technical problems and see them through to resolution.
+ Develop an Integrated Master Schedule by integrating scheduling data from multiple different databases.
+ Consult and help develop data integration strategies.
+ Spearhead Business Intelligence initiatives and automate workflows.
+ Prepare time and cost estimates and schedules for software and dashboard development, maintenance, and modification tasks.
+ Review and analyze software and dashboards to determine the feasibility of design change requests, recommendations and refinements.
+ Write SQL queries to perform data mining, testing and validation utilizing PL/SQL and MySQL or equivalent.
+ Analyze existing test methods to determine the feasibility of design change requests, recommendations and refinements.
+ Coordinate or develop and implement plans for data validation tests between multiple databases and PowerBI Dashboards.
+ Analyze user requirements, devises solutions, and prepares external specification documentation.
+ Design and document systems software by preparing diagrams, logic charts and internal specification documentation.
+ Write program code from internal specifications documentation, prepare test plans and tests data.
+ Run tests, observe results and correct program code to resolve any differences with internal specifications.
+ Participate in the development of written reports, oral presentations of studies, and demonstrations concerning PowerBI Dashboards and database systems specifications and design.
+ Identify potential problems or requirements for expanded capabilities.
+ Develop and propose solutions to problems.
+ May devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems.
+ May review specifications and write programs, including coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
+ May use CASE tools.
+ May provide technical assistance to the User Support Training organization.
+ May participate in the design, development and implementation of custom PowerBI visuals.
+ May instruct, direct and review the work of other personnel.
+ May prepare detailed plans to perform systems design.
+ May plan and coordinate data-related activities, including:
+ Coordinating requests for access to data.
+ Developing, implementing, and reviewing data administration standards regarding validation, integrity, storage, and security of data; internal object naming conventions, and data access methods.
+ Consulting on DBMS issues including installation and management of front-end tools.
+ Developing and reviewing strategic and functional plans for the evolution of data and information architecture, including establishment of a centralized information repository.
+ Resolving issues associated with data administration.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or equivalent computer related experience with at least 5 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience.
+ Demonstrate advanced knowledge of technical principles, theories, standards, practices and procedures in software development or database administration.
+ Ability to coach or mentor less senior staff.
+ Ability to multitask.
+ Ability to lead complex projects that may involve other IT sections, other departments, and consultants.
+ Ability to support multiple increasingly complex software applications or database platforms.
+ Experience in broad range of tools and technology used by NNSS.
+ Ability to solve complex design problems.
+ Strong analytical skills.
+ Demonstrate good problem solving skills.
+ Demonstrate good technical trouble shooting skills.
+ Demonstrate good testing and debugging skills.
+ Demonstrate strong skillset in SQL Server and Oracle relational databases.Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
+ Experience in DOE or previous construction.
+ Experience creating dashboards and/or metric suits with Microsoft PowerBI and/or other Business Intelligence software.
+ Ability to create custom PowerBI visuals is a plus.
+ The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
+ Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).
+ Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
+ Must possess a valid driver's license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. **Department of Energy L Clearance** (position will be cleared to this level). Annual salary range for this position is: **$95,139.20 - $142,708.80.**
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
