First Student is hiring immediately for a **Mechanic** to support our **Manchester, CT** location!

As a Technician with First Student, you’ll play an essential role in keeping students safe by ensuring our fleet of classic yellow school buses is well-maintained, reliable, and ready to roll each day.

About the Mechanic Position

Our Mechanics are responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on a fleet of medium- and heavy-duty school buses. You’ll use your diagnostic skills to ensure our vehicles meet the highest safety and performance standards.

Daily responsibilities include:

+ Performing maintenance and repairs on **brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions**

+ Completing **work orders** accurately and efficiently

+ Assisting with **mobile emergency services** as needed

DOT Notice:

Mechanics and technicians are considered safety-sensitive employees and are subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does **not** authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

You Might Be a Great Fit If:
