Responsibilities You will serve as the primary security expert for Program Executive Office Digital (PEO DES), responsible for the comprehensive protection of personnel, information, and assets. You will encompass both physical and information security domains, requiring expertise in risk assessment, security training, regulatory compliance, and incident response. You will ensure consistent and accurate application of security policies, safeguards sensitive information, and directly supports the Navy's mission by providing expert guidance to program managers, senior executives etc. You will ensure SCGs are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and Navy policies. Provide comprehensive training and guidance to personnel on the proper use and interpretation of SCGs. You will prepare detailed incident reports, meticulously track progress, and provide comprehensive final reports outlining outcomes and corrective actions. You will review and provide expert guidance on derivative classification, safeguarding requirements, and control of classified material. Ensure adherence to proper destruction requirements for classified information. You will manage all Secure Rooms for PEO DES, providing expertise on complex and sensitive security issues directly to program heads, senior executives, flag officers, and national-level Navy leadership You will maintain strict accountability of personnel working within the Secure Rooms and ensure adherence to all Secure Room policies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band DP-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide continuity of security for facility, personnel, visitor control, and/or document control as well as policy guidance and support to Program Office personnel members on security management; AND lead investigations of security incidents to include reporting documenting findings and recommending corrective actions. Education Additional Information THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense. This position is in the Personnel Demonstration Project under authority of Title VII of the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978. The pay schedule and pay band for all Demonstration Project Professional Positions will be DP-1/2/3/4. DP-04 Control Point; WNY. DC; SALARY STATEMENT: If selected, your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position which is $142,488 - $185,234 (Base $106,382 - $138,296 plus 33.94% locality adjustment). The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the pay band, including higher responsibility positions. Based on the responsibilities of this position (DP-04, Control Point), the total adjusted salary may be capped equivalent to GS-14 Step 10 (currently ($185,234 Adjusted Pay). This position is eligible for ad-hoc/situational telework at the discretion of management This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
