We’re looking for an experienced **Automation & Controls Technician** to support our distribution facility and keep our PLC, BMS, and material handling systems operating at the highest level.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll troubleshoot and improve controls, perform preventative and emergency maintenance, and partner with engineers and vendors to keep the entire operation moving.
**Pay Rate:** $41.50/hr
**Schedule:** 1st Shift | Wed–Sat
**Type:** Temp-to-Hire (conversion in as little as 90 days!)

What You’ll Be Doing
+ Troubleshoot and modify PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and building management systems
+ Analyze system performance trends and improve metrics at macro and micro levels
+ Perform preventive maintenance for automation and maintain electrical/control spare parts
+ Assist with scheduled PMs on mechanical material handling equipment (conveyors, sorters, etc.)
+ Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime
+ Coordinate with vendors on electrical/control installations as needed
+ Maintain accurate documentation — work orders, parts logs, timesheets, and maintenance records
+ Perform parts procedure and inventory control to support maintenance effectiveness
What We’re Looking For
Core Skills & Technical Knowledge
+ PLC troubleshooting & hardware knowledge (Pico, MicroLogix 1500, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, SLC 500, 1794 Flex I/O)
+ BMS/HVAC controls familiarity
+ Understanding of 3-phase power distribution, transmission, grounding, and arc flash safety
+ Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic, and vision system assembly
+ Ability to connect, test, and maintain electrical systems (security, climate, comms, etc.)
+ Mechanical material handling experience & emergency repair support
+ Familiarity (bonus) with WAGO I/O, Siemens Step 7, CAN, B&R X67

Physical Requirements
This role is performed in a warehouse environment on concrete flooring. Must be able to:
+ Stand, walk, hear, push, pull for extended periods
+ Frequently bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs, handle tools/equipment
+ Work safely around energized equipment and machinery
+ Maintain consistent attendance and reliability
+ Use visual acuity for computer screens and printed documentation

**Pay Details:** $41.50 per hour
