Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Provides key revenue cycle metrics reporting and provides tools and analysis to monitor medical and operational performance. Compiles and reports on all professional billing data, monitors data imports, basic system maintenance, training and data research. Assists business office with denial and root cause analysis. Plans, organizes and conducts operations that affect the revenue cycle (e.g., billing, collections, payment processing). Proposes processes to meet revenue cycle goals in collaboration with medical practices. Conducts related training, monitoring, analysis and reporting on revenue cycle processes and results. Proposes practice-specific process improvement recommendations.

+ Remote options available after in-person training.
+ Occasional onsite meetings / work at RTP are required.
+ Remote location must be within 2 hours of RTP and within New York State.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Coordinates activities of University departments to resolve cash reconciliation issues in a timely manner.
+ Reviews, analyzes and corrects to confirm completeness and accuracy of data.
+ Communicates with department leadership to provide education regarding accounting procedures and best practices to resolve individual and systemic problems.
+ Determines whether account balances are reasonable.
+ Examines accounting documents to verify transactions are properly supported in accordance with University policy and procedures.
+ Initiates corrective action or recommends solutions as appropriate.
+ Prepares routine and non-routine working papers.
+ Exhibits and summarizes supporting findings and recommendations.
+ Recommends improvements and changes in policies and procedures for preparing entries into the accounting system.
+ Prepares, distributes and summarizes information in reports required by department leadership.
+ Develops reports for internal and external audits, department projects.
+ Completes special projects as assigned.
+ Communicates with administrators in other departments.
+ Develops and executes strategic plans to facilitate program development and process improvement.
+ Assumes responsibilities for the timely completion of duties and projects, including resolving problematic situations.
+ Analyzes situation and incidents, prepares and delivers verbal briefings to communicate to leadership regarding recommendations and conclusions.
+ Serves on teams to develop and implement new systems and processes.
+ Identifies, presents and implements new ways to improve operations.
+ Cross trains and provides coverage for other positions as needed, including preparing and distributing daily and monthly reports, posting remittances, and registering for sign on codes.
+ Supports area leadership and provides managerial coverage in the event of the manager’s absence.
+ Ensures the balancing cash procedures are completed and performs quality assurance on work.
+ Serves as a liaison within the department, as well as for nursing leadership, nursing staff, and other department leaders, at the Medical Center. Plans and conducts training on operational and systems procedures for the department.
+ Conducts competency reviews and oversees the completion of exercises to demonstrate staff knowledge.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience required
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience
