Your Opportunity
The role of a Structural EIT is to work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural EIT will be able to perform structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Complete calculations and drawings for small projects under Senior Engineer’s guidance.
- Works with and coordinates with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines.
- Perform Construction Administration duties including completing field observations reports, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, and evaluating contractor change orders.
- Perform calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Communicate design issues and solutions with the design team and owner clients.
- Understand industry standard design processes and understanding of construction means and methods.
- Work within project scope, budgets, and design approach to deliver projects to clients on time, on budget, and at a high level of client service.
- Assist with development of design standards.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
- Basic understanding of Revit, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool
- Thorough understanding of structural engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs and other similar materials
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit and AutoCAD
- Finite Element Analysis Software such as RISA and SAP
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and combination of work related is required.
- NCEES EIT.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form concepts and ideas to a diverse audience of architects, engineers, and owner clients effectively.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of structural building codes and requirements.
- Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit).
- Experience with general business software (Microsoft Office suite).
- Experience with industry standard Structural Engineering software (CSI, RISA, RAM, etc.).

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas-$74,600.00 - $104,400.00 Annually
• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas-$80,000.00 - $112,000.00 Annually
**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
