    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    This position is responsible for leading the Sourcing and Procurement functions for Universal Studios Hollywood, overseeing daily procurement operations, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationships.  The Sr. Manager will deliver procurement efficiency, beneficial spend economics and savings via utilization of sourcing strategies /best practices, on-time ordering accuracy, supplier compliance, and consistent execution across all Food & Beverage categories.  This role will also oversee sourcing readiness and onboarding for all new ventures, ensuring that new concepts are fully supported through SKU setup, vendor engagement, and procurement readiness.  Additionally, this position will serve as the primary liaison to the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) for all R&D and New Venture sourcing efforts, ensuring alignment with Universal’s sourcing governance framework and overall corporate strategy.

     

    This position requires a candidate with proven leadership ability to facilitate, guide, and implement improvements within the sourcing organization and operation of the company. This position will lead a team of sourcing professionals and must have the ability to motivate others to meet the challenges of a face paced, collaborative, and results driven environment. This position will work to ensure Sourcing initiatives are executed efficiently, industry best practices are adopted, and corporate Sourcing policies are adhered to for Universal’s domestic properties; may require global interaction with stakeholders and other UPR Sourcing professionals. Travel is required.

    Essential Functions

    + Lead a high performing team in sourcing and procurement execution for Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) Food & Beverage, ensuring daily operational continuity, cost visibility, and vendor compliance.

    + Design and implement sourcing programs, including bid specifications, distributor and manufacturer negotiations, and supplier development strategies.

    + Design and execute RFX Processes- RFI, RFP, RFQ - and negotiate economically beneficial contracts with suppliers to deliver competitive product and service pricing across categories.

    + Responsible for delivery of on-time ordering and accuracy for replenishment levels of warehouse and direct shipment items for responsible site and New Ventures sites.

    + Oversee procurement processes within Eatec/S4 to ensure accurate purchase orders, on-time delivery, and full adherence to Universal’s governance model.

    + Serve as the primary liaison to the GPO for all R&D and New Venture sourcing efforts, ensuring project transparency, data accuracy, supplier compliance, and measurable value delivery.

    + Coordinate cross-functional alignment with Culinary, Operations, Shared Services, and IT for USH and all new venue onboarding, including SKU creation, sourcing timelines, and supplier readiness.

    + Partner with the Cost Control team to ensure budget alignment, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support margin expansion initiatives.

    + Develop and maintain procurement policies and sourcing procedures to enhance efficiency, transparency, and alignment with Universal’s national sourcing governance.

    + Design and execute category sourcing strategies that deliver short and long term benefits across pricing, delivery, storage and supplier utilization/management.

    + Design and execute procurement ordering and replenishment strategies and/or playbooks that deliver operational efficiency and cost effectiveness across product portfolio.

    + Analyze procurement data and supplier performance to identify cost reductions, supplier consolidation, and continuous improvement opportunities.

    + Forecast demand and usage patterns to optimize inventory levels and procurement scheduling.

    + Ensure sourcing compliance, sustainability standards, and food safety requirements are met across all vendors.

    + Drive completion of key projects by proactively considering new alternatives and applying critical thinking to achieve optimal results.

    + Provide leadership and mentoring to the USH Sourcing & Procurement team to promote continuous improvement, accountability, and best-in-class performance.

    + Build and foster relationships by collaborating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and UDX leadership.

    + Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established USH policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

    + Various projects as assigned.

    + Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in Food & Beverage sourcing or procurement, including at least 3–5 years in a management or leadership capacity.

    + Bachelor’s degree required; Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM) preferred.

    + Strong understanding of ERP systems (Eatec/S4) and procurement workflow automation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

    + Deep knowledge of multi-step strategic sourcing, bid management, and category management strategies. Proven success in cost modeling, supplier negotiation, and analytics-driven decision-making.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities. Skilled in cross-functional partnership and influencing without direct authority.

    + Strong analytical acumen with the ability to translate data into insights and actions. Capable of balancing strategic vision with executional precision.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all organizational levels, with a focus on clarity, persuasion, and professionalism.

    + Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.

    Additional Requirements

    + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week.
