The Role
Zscaler’s Engineering and Product teams design, build, and operate the cloud‑native Zero Trust platform, translating customer and market needs into secure, scalable services. Product sets strategy and roadmap, prioritizes features across secure access and data protection, and validates with customers. Engineering delivers with modern architectures, automation, QA, and SRE, ensuring reliability, performance, and compliance. Together they ship rapidly, integrate with the ecosystem, and partner with go‑to‑market and Customer Success to drive adoption and measurable outcomes.
As Summer 2026 Technical Intern, you’ll collaborate with top cloud architects, software engineers, and security experts while driving impactful projects that contribute to Zscaler’s mission. This 12-week internship program is based in San Jose, CA and offers a hybrid work environment.
What You'll Do (Role Expectations)
+ Focus on one of the following project areas: core software development, threat detection and analysis, security operations, security compliance, debugging and code reviews
+ Take ownership of assigned projects and feature development, working closely with team members, mentors, and stakeholders to meet deliverables and timelines
+ Collaborate by attending and contributing to daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and design reviews to develop new technical solutions and support cross-functional initiatives
+ Create and update technical documentation, project summaries, or knowledge base articles to ensure your work is accessible, maintainable, and impactful for the team
+ Quickly learn and apply new programming languages, frameworks, internal tools, or technical processes required for your assigned projects.

What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
+ A student currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
+ Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
+ Motivated self-starter with a passion for innovation and technology
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
+ Hands-on experience using technical tools, frameworks, or programming languages relevant to cloud security or software development.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
Base Pay Range
$45—$65 USD
