• HVAC Technician

    MTC (Calexico, CA)


    Pay: $30.04 per hour

     

    **Work schedule:**  Full-time; M-F, 8am-5pm

    **Work with a purpose! Imperial Regional Detention Facility located in Calexico, CA** . is now hiring career-minded people to assist with securing the safety of our community while positively impacting the lives of those on the inside.

    **What you'll do:** You'll be responsible for duties involving HVAC equipment and recovery, general maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings, assisting with technical trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Perform maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical systems, heating, ventilating and air conditioning. Recommend contracted assistance when on-facility repair is not possible.

    2. Perform preventive maintenance checks of building and equipment. Monitor tool inventory.

    3. Perform routine scheduled checks of air conditioning systems.

    4. Provide on-call support in emergency situations or equipment breakdowns.

    5. Requires long periods of walking and standing.

    6. Requires bending, twisting, climbing ladders and pushing and pulling of a maintenance cart full of tools.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    + High school diploma or equivalent, training and licensing in the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems required.

    + General knowledge of repair and maintenance, and three (3) years of maintenance or related experience also required.

    + Must be at least 21 years of age.

    + Valid driver’s license in the state of California with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
