Position: HCT & Cellular Therapy Apheresis RN Location: Winston-Salem, NCDepartment: Cancer Hematology Clinic
Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hrs per week, 7am-5pm , 4 days per week
Are you a skilled RN with a passion for cellular therapies? Ready to make a profound impact in cancer care—and elevate your career? Novant Health is recruiting an HCT & Cellular Therapy Apheresis Registered Nurse for our Transplantation & Cellular Therapy team.
What You'll Do:
+ Educates and explains apheresis procedure and provides health teaching to patients and families.
+ Performs apheresis procedures independently while following department/program policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements (ex. FDA, FACT).
+ Administers pre-transplant conditioning chemotherapy regimens and pre-CAR T lympho-depleting chemotherapy.
+ Performs hematopoietic cell transplantation and cellular product infusions.
+ Maintains and cares for patient venous access used during apheresis procedure.
+ Monitors patients daily post-transplant and post-CAR T.
Qualifications:
+ RN license in NC or compact state • BLS & ACLS required
+ 1+ year apheresis experience collecting HPCs and MNCs preferred
+ BSN preferred; will consider equivalent experience
+ ONCC OCN/BMTCN or ASCP QIA credential preferred or in progress
+ Chemotherapy‑Immunotherapy Certificate (ONS/ONCC) or equivalent — required within 6 months of hire

What We're Looking For
+ Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. BSN, preferred.
+ Experience: Minimum of one year of apheresis experience in the collection of hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPC, Apheresis) and mononuclear cells (MNC, Apheresis) preferred.
+ Licensure/Certification:
+ Current NC or compact state RN license, required.
+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification, required.
+ Current (or actively pursuing) the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and/or Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMTCN) credential or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Qualification in Apheresis (QIA) credentials, preferred.
+ Completion of ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or equivalent within 6 months of hire, required.
+ Additional Skills (required):
+ Self-starter.

+ Interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
+ Skills in patient education, teamwork and collaboration are necessary.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
+ Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.

+ Desire to provide compassionate, holistic care.
+ Able to work independently without close supervision.
+ Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of HCT and cellular therapy processes, including mobilization, apheresis, Spectra Optia® Apheresis System, HCT/cellular product infusion, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapies and complications, and standards of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) preferred.
