Job Summary
The Manager, Materials is responsible for overseeing all aspects of material planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, optimal inventory levels, and smooth material flow throughout the supply chain. The position requires strong leadership to manage a team and collaborate across functions to meet program objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Lead all material and logistics activities for the EPBL program.
+ Manage the materials management team, including warehousing, planners, buyers, and inventory control staff.
+ Develop and implement strategies for inventory optimization, cost reduction, and supplier performance improvement.
+ Ensure parts forecasts are accurate and available for all repair orders.
+ Collaborate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure timely material availability.
+ Monitor and analyze inventory levels, forecast demand, and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers; assist with contract negotiations to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
+ Utilize ERP and MAXIMO systems for material planning and reporting.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives in materials management processes.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree required.
+ Minimum of 9 years of experience in materials management or related field.
+ Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering functional objectives.
+ Strong knowledge of inventory control, procurement, and logistics processes.
+ Proficiency in ERP systems and material planning tools.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with MAXIMO system.
+ Background in global supply chain management.
+ Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to implement cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple functions.
