The Impact You'll Make
The Technical Sales Intern will join the IGNITE Internship Program, a 12-week structured, cohort-based experience designed to attract and develop early talent. In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure to OEM Sales, including how we collaborate directly with OEMs to understand application needs, support new product introductions, and build long-term customer partnerships. You will participate in customer meetings, on-site visits, solution discussions, and account management support activities under the guidance of experienced sales and engineering professionals.
This internship is intentionally structured to support learning and growth. You will receive training on Danfoss products and system applications, coaching on communication and relationship-building, and opportunities to learn from peers and leaders across the organization. From your first day, you will be paired with a peer buddy and supported by a mentor to guide your development.
What You’ll Be Doing
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following
+ Support OEM development through opportunity tracking, customer follow-up, and sales engagement activities.
+ Gain exposure to account management tasks such as pricing support, quoting, pipeline updates, and customer communication.
+ Participate in customer meetings, calls and field visits to learn relationship-building and value-selling techniques.
+ Gather and communicate market intelligence using CRM and sales enablement tools to support channel planning and competitive position.
+ Collaborate with Application Engineering and Product Management teams to learn how product decisions align to customer needs and application requirements.
+ Network with senior leaders and peers through cohort learning sessions, and professional development workshops.
What We're Looking For
Required (basic) qualifications
+ Current full-time undergraduate student (B.Sc.) in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Completion of at least sophomore year by the start of the internship (rising junior or senior).
+ Interest in learning about solution selling, customer engagement, and equipment manufacturer decision-making. No prior sales experience required.
+ Energetic, eager to learn, with a passion for engineering and technology.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
+ Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, both now and in the future.

+ Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced settings.
+ Organized and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.
+ Comfortable engaging with customers in person and during field visits.
+ Must be available to work on-site at our new Danfoss Minneapolis Campus (Plymouth, MN) or our Ames, IA facility.
+ Relocation is not available for this position.
+ Start Date: May 18, 2026
+ Hourly rate of $20-$25 per hour based on years of educational experience
