    Description

Worldwide Grocery Store Category Management (WWGCM) is seeking an organized self-starter to join the WWGCM Leadership team as a key member of the organization. WWGCM is responsible for omni-channel grocery category management and merchandising with an emphasis on perishables. This role will act as a business operations leader to the teams encompassing WWGCM, enabling the team to scale category management and merchandising capabilities across multiple channels and banners, in-store and online.

This is a role which will provide a development opportunity to act as a seamless extension of the leader of the organization, allowing the WWGCM leader to scale and operate more productively across the organization. In this role, you will partner with the leaders across WWGCM and applicable stakeholders to influence and drive decisions across multiple channels and banners. This position requires superior analytical strength, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to synthesize moving parts of the omni-channel grocery business to drive forward progress. The role requires a strong sense of urgency, the ability to influence, make sound judgement calls, and willingness to roll up your sleeves. The right candidate for the role must be able to thrive and succeed in an ever-changing environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities across diverse channel operations.

    Key job responsibilities

    1. Partner with WWGCM Directors and their leadership teams to develop motivating vision and operating tenets for omni-channel grocery category management and physical store merchandising across the broader organization.

    2. Own creation and maintenance of the Rhythm of Business reporting; driving optimization and efficiency across multiple channels and banners with emphasis on perishables category performance.

    3. Develop and execute work-backwards plans to ensure key strategic deliverables such as Annual Operating Plans, Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews for category management initiatives and ensure they are completed on time to high quality standards.

    4. Managing and tracking adherence and progress toward achieving WWGCM initiatives and goals across multiple channels. This is achieved by navigating complex data, processes, and channel nuances to help provide updates to WWGCM Leadership on perishables and grocery category performance. Partner with the WWGCM leadership team to implement a mechanism to set, manage and track goals, and ensure accountability for results across all channels and banners.

    5. Author periodic executive reports and updates for business leaders on progress towards fulfilling organizational goals and priorities related to omni-channel category management, perishables, and physical store performance.

    6. Use strong analytical skills to tell the story around the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and supporting data for category management and merchandising metrics, and provide actionable insights to raise the bar on organizational performance and drive path-to-green plans as needed across multiple channels and banners.

    7. Partner with the Business Operations Managers and Program Managers in broader grocery organizations and peer teams to ensure tight alignment on category management strategies, facilitate the sharing (and proliferation) of information of best-known practices for perishables and grocery categories, and drive synchronization and collaboration in connection with shared goals and deliverables across channels.

    8. Communicate across global stakeholders at all levels and be able to know the omni-channel grocery category management business well enough (with the data to back it up) to represent the organization and advocate for perishables category and physical store initiatives.
