AWS Pentest Tooling Team operates across AWS to deliver pentests in fast, innovative and secure fashion. Our mission is to scale penetration testing by enabling pentesters to focus on hard problems. Our team builds the tooling and processes to help identify, track and mitigate potential security risks.
We are looking for a highly motivated full stack software engineer to help build and scale security automations. In this role, you will get to work with principal engineers and security engineers on a daily basis.
Key job responsibilities
This is a hands-on position where you'll be at the forefront of developing scalable security solutions at AWS. As a full stack developer, you'll own end-to-end solutions. Your work will involve complex systems incorporating Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning technologies to build an intelligent assistant that transforms security operations.
You will be involved in all parts of a software developer lifecycle - including software & system designing, coding, troubleshooting, testing, doing code reviews, testing, deployment and service maintenance. You'll design and build both client-side and server-side applications, create analytical workflows on latest platforms, and ensure seamless user experiences while maintaining robust backend functionality. Beyond coding, you'll participate in system design, troubleshooting, code reviews, testing, deployment, and service maintenance.
You have strong verbal and written communication skills, are self-driven, and can deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. You will work across Amazon engineering teams and business teams across the globe in planning, designing, executing and implementing this new platform across multiple geographies. You will also mentor junior engineers and work with the most sophisticated customers in the business to help them get the best results. Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience in one or more relevant front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, etc.
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design, or experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems with UI/UX design principles
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
- Experience with front-end software development
- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Knowledge of one or more of the following domains: access-control system and methodology, network security, application- and system-development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, and operations security
- Exposure to building things in Native AWS (CDK, pipelines)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
