The Controls Engineer is responsible for overseeing and leading the development of PLC and HMI programs to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient operation of products and processes, while meeting company quality and production standards, as well as customer documentation and delivery requirements. This role involves designing, developing, and managing all aspects of programming for PLCs, HMIs, and remote I/O devices in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment. The engineer will work within a project management structure to ensure workflows remain within schedule and budget constraints. Additionally, the role requires providing onsite commercial and technical field support, which includes up to 25% local regional travel to customers and suppliers, with occasional domestic and rare international travel.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop PLC and HMI programs for product and process operations.
+ Manage programming for PLCs, HMIs, and remote I/O devices.
+ Ensure workflow remains within schedule and budget requirements.
+ Provide onsite commercial and technical field support, involving regional travel.
+ Coordinate and manage projects for customer orders.
+ Develop product and project quotes.
+ Establish and maintain communication with internal teams, customers, and suppliers using Microsoft Office products.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of engineering and technical experience.
+ Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI software.
+ Experience with Allen Bradley PLC/HMI programming.
+ Knowledge of SCADA systems and integration.
+ Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet IP, and Profinet.
+ Experience with Emerson PAC Machine Edition or Allen Bradley Studio 5000 for PLCs.
+ Experience with Emerson Movicon/PAC Machine Ed. or Allen Bradley FactoryTalk View Machine Edition for HMIs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or a 2-year technical degree with equivalent related experience.
+ Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition, Blue Open Studio, or Wonderware InTouch for SCADA integration.
+ Experience with Schneider Electric Control Logix or related software.
+ Experience with GE Multilin or Basler DECS software is a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
