    Job Title: Advanced Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

     

    Join our team as a corporate-level engineering resource focused on manufacturability, cost optimization, and standardization. Support New Product Development (NPD) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects while working cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Site Manufacturing Engineering.

    Responsibilities

    + Represent manufacturing engineering in product development, conduct Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/A) reviews, support pilot builds, and validate design and process to ensure cost, quality, and delivery objectives are met.

    + Lead cost reduction projects, implement alternative materials and designs, maintain savings dashboard, and conduct benchmarking and cost studies.

    + Deploy and improve corporate standards, including Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), ensuring best practices in fabrication, welding, assembly, and paint.

    + Utilize Oracle Fusion, SigmaNest, Power BI, and Excel for analysis and participate in Industry 4.0 initiatives to drive data-driven decisions.

    + Act as a liaison between corporate and site teams, facilitate review meetings, and provide updates to leadership.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.

    + 5–10 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, or VAVE roles.

    + Understanding of fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and paint processes.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

    + Strong foundation in Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, Process Flow, and cost analysis.

    + Excellent communication and project management skills for cross-functional integration.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.

    + Knowledge of Oracle ERP.

    Work Environment

    This role is based in an office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing settings. It requires 30% travel. The position is part of a new department focused on piloting Industry 4.0 and advanced manufacturing initiatives.     This is a Contract position based out of Chattanooga, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
