    Grifols Diagnostic Solutions in San Diego, CA is seeking a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer works with project team(s) to ensure successful delivery of projects, and assist Project Leaders with their projects. This role manages one or more project activities including clinical trials, launch preparations, lifecycle activities (e.g. software updates). Furthermore, the Project Engineer leads internal PM activities such as budget cycle and process best practice activities. The Project Engineer must have technical project management skills and must be capable of, and have experience with, planning and organizing team resources to successfully achieve established goals and objectives.

     

    To qualify for this role, we are seeking individuals with Bachelors/Masters degree or equivalent, and PMP certification or equivalent is preferred. Minimum of 2 years in project management required; experience in project management of international, global development teams preferred.

    Primary Responsibilities

    + Initiates, plans, executes, and monitors project activities of cross functional teams to ensure project deliverables / products are launched on schedule, on budget and meet business, regulatory and quality requirements.

    + Leads project teams that are responsible for developing and executing on a product strategy.

    + Collaborates with Project Leaders to deliver program aspects.

    + Proactively communicates key issues and other critical topics in a timely manager with Project Leaders and Clinical Trial Leads, line management, and stakeholders. Communicates openly and timely, horizontally and vertically in order to achieve transparency of project progress and mediate conflict resolution to achieve an aligned team position.

    + Leads team to define and align on project scope based on customer needs and to translate them into traced requirements.

    + Drives decision making and problem resolution while managing multiple stakeholders in complex project environments.

    + Develops collaborator and partnership relationships, internally and externally. Establishes contractual relationships and monitors mutual obligations.

    + Creates, manages and communicates project schedules and provides feedback to team members and others as appropriate. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders as necessary to ensure desired project progression

    + Initiates, directs, and leads team meetings, prepares presentations, maintains project schedules and plans, reports on KPI.

    + Technical Experience: Experience in project management methodology and process improvement.

    + Conflict Management: Steps up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities; reads situations quickly; good at focused listening; can hammer out tough agreements and settle disputes equitably; can find common ground and get cooperation with minimum noise.

    + Process Management: Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done; knows how to organize people and activities; understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient work flow; knows what to measure and how to measure it; can see opportunities for synergy and integration where others can't; can simplify complex processes; gets more out of fewer resources.

    + Priority Setting: Spends his/her time and the time of others on what's important; quickly zeroes in on the critical few and puts the trivial many aside; can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal; eliminates roadblocks; creates focus.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Team player with ability to function and influence others in a multi-cultural matrix environment.

    + Open communication style with strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Demonstrated strong project management planning and tracking skills, capable of managing multiple projects with respect to priorities and self-management.

    + Experience in requirements management processes and other process development methodologies.

    + Interest in processes, process definition and optimization, including budgeting process. Finance experience can be acquired on the job.

    Education

    + Bachelors/Masters degree or equivalent, PhD a plus.

    + PMP certification or equivalent preferred.

    Experience

    + Minimum of 2 years in project management required; Experience in project management of international, global development teams preferred.

    Equivalency

    + Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

     

    Pay Scale

     

    The estimated pay scale for **Project Engineer** role based in **San Diego, CA** , is **$80,546 to $100,682.50** per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to **5** % of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
