Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

The Lab Technician plays a crucial role in supporting production by conducting tests on all incoming materials, processes, and outgoing products, as well as performing environmental testing. This position is integral in ensuring the quality and compliance of products with cGMP/FDA specifications.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct bacterial plating and microbiology testing.

+ Perform pH testing and titratable acidity analysis.

+ Utilize an infrared reader for butter fat and total solids measurement.

+ Calibrate machines and conduct weight checks.

+ Perform lab tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics of ingredients, in-process samples, and finished products.

+ Assist the R&D team in formulating new products.

+ Record test results on standard forms and prepare detailed test reports.

+ Clean, sterilize, and calibrate all lab equipment.

+ Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with GMP/FDA regulations.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Chemistry and Biology.

+ Experience with wet chemistry, titration, and microbiology.

+ Knowledge of quality control and GMP practices.

+ Familiarity with lab equipment such as pH meters, micro plating tools, Epic Charm, scales, and microscopes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree with labs in Biology or a related field is desired.

+ High school diploma with industry lab experience will be considered.

+ Aseptic technique knowledge is a plus.

+ Quick learning ability and strong interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to multitask effectively.

+ Experience in the restaurant industry is advantageous.

+ Ability to taste products, therefore not being lactose intolerant.

Work Environment

The position is based in a lab and manufacturing environment. Shift options include 3rd shift weekend (Friday-Sunday 6pm-6:30am), 1st shift weekend (Friday-Sunday 6am-6:30pm), and 3rd shift Monday-Thursday (10pm-8:30am), with an option to work an additional 4 hours during the week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pacific, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.60 - $21.60/hr.
