    As a Lead Mechanic, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based in Bixby, OK, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater treatment plants and related facilities equipment on an assigned shift. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment; lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions; replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment; tune engines, set valve clearance, clean, and adjust regulators; examine equipment failures to identify cause and to prevent recurrences; and install and sets up new equipment. You’ll also clean and paint interior and exterior equipment and buildings; lean out pipes and  take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.

    Essential Functions:

    • Assigns work to other mechanics and assures work is completed to the highest level of quality.

    • Reads, interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and

    technical illustrations

    •Performs skilled repair work, on water and/or wastewater treatment plant equipment and

    instruments

    •Inspects, repairs and maintains electrical and/or electro-mechanical operating and control

    systems, equipment and fixtures

    •Inspects, maintains and repairs wiring and lighting systems, electrical control equipment, meters, outlets, and panels, as well as motors, pumps, and drives

    •Installs new equipment, interprets oral and written instructions, specifications, wiring diagrams,

    and codes

    •Establishes and maintains scheduled electrical and mechanical maintenance program for the

    plant's equipment

    •May repair electrical and electronic instruments

    •Exercises independent judgment in solving normal work problems under general supervision of

    •Maintenance Supervisor or Project Manager using standard tools, and special electrical tools

    and equipment

    • Keeps electrical and mechanical maintenance records, prepares labor and material estimates

    • Understands the mathematics of electricity and machines

    •Read and record information in Maintenance Connection. Work orders, and mechanical information sheets.

    •Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles (i.e., fluid levels,

    •belts, tires)

    •Perform routine onsite pump station inspections

    •Test auxiliary equipment (i.e., alarms, HVAC, pumps, engines, generators)

    •Lubricate equipment and replace filters

    •Assists in keeping maintenance records

    •Communicates effectively at all levels regarding recommended maintenance and repair

    procedures

    •Make clutch and regulator adjustments

    •Check and adjust tolerances of impellers and gears

    •Aligning equipment using alignment devices (i.e., dial indicators, calipers), demonstrate use of vibration analysis equipment

    •Replace bearings, seals, shafts, and gears on equipment.

    •Properly use acetylene/oxygen torch and arc welder to perform various tasks (i.e., cutting,

    welding, brazing)

    •Inspect and repair chemical feed equipment (i.e., hypo chlorinators, metering pumps, regulators,

    injectors, polymer blend and feed)

    •Inspect emergency power systems (i.e., generators, transfer switches)

    •Determine pump ratings and efficiencies

    •Ability to install and/or modify new and existing equipment

    •Perform non-routine preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicles

    •Follows oral and written instructions

    •Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of

    work

    •Daily and punctual attendance in the office and/or job site or off-site locations is required

    •Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of

    work

    •This position may be required to be available on an on-call basis for emergencies

    •Travel between work locations is required.

    •Performs other related duties as assigned

    •Five years of experience electrical/mechanical technician

    •Two years of electrical experience working on pump motors, controls and other equipment related to wastewater treatment

    •Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infractions

    •Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

    •Demonstrated knowledge of methods, materials, equipment and tools used in the construction,

     

    repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to water and

     

    waste water treatment plant operations and procedures.

     

    •Knowledge of the operations of internal combustion engines and electrical pump motors.

    •Enough computer proficiency to perform basic data entry and revise/update electronically

     

    produced work orders

    Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

    •Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment and instruments used in the maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical and electronic control systems

    •Familiarity with the principles and practices of wastewater treatment plant operations and process control

    •Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification or ability to obtain

    •Knowledge of related state and federal laws and regulations

    •Preferred completion of the Certified Reliability Leader certification (CRL offered by the

    •Association of Management Professionals)
