Description We are looking for a talented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Fridley, Minnesota. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a vital part in handling both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, ensuring financial accuracy and smooth operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background and a commitment to delivering quality results within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices with precision, ensuring proper coding and entry into the accounting system.

• Review and reconcile statements and invoices, promptly addressing any discrepancies.

• Manage weekly payment runs through checks, electronic transfers, or wires, ensuring all approvals are in place.

• Maintain accurate vendor records and handle inquiries regarding payments in a timely manner.

• Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing AP aging reports and accruals.

• Generate and distribute customer invoices based on contracts and sales orders, ensuring accuracy.

• Record incoming payments, apply them to accounts, and reconcile deposits effectively.

• Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate with customers to resolve payment issues.

• Prepare AR aging reports and support collection efforts to ensure timely payments.

• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements for AP/AR workflows. Requirements • Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.

• Strong skills in billing, account reconciliation, and journal entries.

• Experience with coding and processing invoices accurately.

• Familiarity with handling approved invoices and resolving discrepancies.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial data management.

• Ability to support audits by providing proper documentation and records.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills for vendor and customer interactions.

• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or similar industry setting is preferred.
