Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of products and components within our advanced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
+ Perform First Article and Incoming Inspection of purchased components and subassemblies.
+ Learn and become proficient in the use of state-of-the-art test equipment.
+ Conduct in-process inspection audits and final product conformance approvals.
+ Maintain inspection and test data for review, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and legal regulations.
+ Report results and deviations to small teams, including suppliers, peers, and management.
+ Collaborate with Engineering, Master Data, and Global teams to support Manufacturing with inspection results.
+ Monitor and address Missing Parts submissions from the Install Team; implement Root Cause Corrective Actions.
+ Lead Material Review Board, maintain accurate Quarantine inventory, and determine proper disposition for nonconforming materials.
+ Generate appropriate documentation, such as Nonconformance Reports and Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
+ Assist the Procurement Team with Supplier selection and Supplier Quality evaluation.
+ Submit, track, and assist in processing internal Corrective And Preventative Actions.
+ Create and maintain quality documentation, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality checklists.
+ Coordinate calibration of measuring equipment using both internal and external sources.
+ Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining, evaluating, and improving the Quality Management System and assist with annual certification audits for ISO 9001:2015.
+ Identify areas for Continuous Improvement in Quality and develop and execute improvement plans.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
+ Knowledge of precision measurement methods and experience using precision measuring instruments.
+ Ability to interpret models, prints, drawings, and specifications; basic GD&T knowledge required.
+ Strong math skills, including trigonometry; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail and a high level of ownership mentality.
+ Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data; statistical process control (SPC) experience a plus.
+ Experience with Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2015 preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ A.S. or higher in a related field is a plus.
+ Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodology a plus.
+ Experience with complex, multi-level BOMs a plus.
+ Experience or understanding of Electrical, Software, and Automation preferred.
+ Metal fabrication experience preferred, including laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
+ Experience with high-power fiber laser technology preferred.
+ Knowledge of materials, specifically types of metals and manufacturing techniques, is preferred.
+ SAP or other ERP system knowledge a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hoffman Estates, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
