Job Title: Sanitation Supervisor
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Sanitation Supervisor to oversee and ensure the cleanliness and safety of our manufacturing environment. As the sole supervisor on-site, you will play a critical role in maintaining sanitary conditions and supporting a safe plant operation.
Responsibilities
+ Assign the sanitation team to regularly scheduled cleaning tasks on equipment, floors, walls, and ceilings to maintain sanitary conditions.
+ Monitor all aspects of assigned work areas to ensure compliance with sanitary, quality, and operational standards.
+ Initiate the purchase of required tools and maintain accountability for issued tools.
+ Conduct self-inspections to ensure adherence to master cleaning schedules and assigned cleaning projects.
+ Participate in customer and other audit procedures, taking corrective action as needed.
+ Notify production supervisory staff of downtime required for detailed equipment cleaning.
+ Capture and document process waste, collaborating with operations to identify areas for waste reduction.
+ Perform troubleshooting inspections on machinery and notify relevant departments of concerns.
+ Manage the budget concerning staff levels, man-hours worked, supply costs, and contractor services.
+ Provide guidance and training to ensure compliance with company policies, including safety and regulatory standards.
+ Conduct regular team meetings to review projects, goals, and resolve issues.
+ Engage staff in problem-solving and improvement initiatives, utilizing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing tools.
+ Demonstrate positive leadership, setting clear goals and providing feedback; complete annual performance reviews.
+ Ensure effective implementation of new hire and cross-training programs.
+ Operate within core values of respect and care for others.
Essential Skills
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
+ Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and environmental sanitation principles
+ Understanding of food borne pathogens and US food laws and regulations
+ Experience with wet and dry-cleaning methodologies
+ Time management and multitasking abilities
+ 5+ years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Knowledge in 5S methodology: Sort, Set in Order, Shine/Sweep, Standardize, Sustain
+ Leadership skills with a focus on team management
+ Understanding of dry sanitation practices, particularly in chocolate manufacturing

Work Environment
The position is based in a manufacturing facility that may have varying temperatures and smells like chocolate. The work involves exposure to noise, cold, heat, and dust. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, climbing, bending, and walking. The role may occasionally require work on alternate shifts, evenings, or weekends.

This is a Permanent position based out of Union City, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $88000.00/yr.
