Job Title: Demolition Laborer

Job Description

As a Demolition Laborer, you will be responsible for dismantling concrete and drywall, as well as sawing and breaking building materials. Your role will include the removal of debris and the safe operation of hand and power tools. You may also be required to operate large equipment such as skid steers and loaders.

Responsibilities

+ Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.

+ Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel.

+ Follow all standard operating procedures during the demolition and cleanup process.

+ Interact closely with peers to effectively and safely complete all demolition tasks.

+ Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, in addition to other federal, state, and local regulations.

+ Clean tools, equipment, and work area.

+ Complete specific projects, assignments, and other tasks as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of construction experience.

+ Experience with hand and power tools.

+ DBIDS in hand and REAL ID.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in general labor, jackhammer, concrete demolition, building teardown, and commercial construction.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a 2-year long project with the potential for permanent employment after 90 business days. You will also have the opportunity to earn overtime.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both outdoor and indoor settings, operating rain or shine. The work hours are 7am-4:30pm from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portsmouth, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
