Job Title: Machinist

Seeking a candidate with experience in multiple machines including - **lathes, drilling machines, and milling machines** , which perform operations like turning, drilling, and cutting through direct manual or mechanical control. Special purpose machines, such as **laser cutters, press brakes, and roll forming machines.**

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate conventional and special purpose machines to fabricate metallic parts. This role requires a strong understanding of machine shop theory, procedures, shop mathematics, and layout techniques.

Responsibilities

+ Set up and operate machines by interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.

+ Determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces and sequence of operations.

+ Mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials as guides for machining.

+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and other machine attachments.

+ Calculate and set controls for machining factors such as speed, feed, and coolant flow.

+ Start and observe machine operations, adjusting controls to address malfunctions.

+ Verify dimensions using measuring instruments like micrometers and gauge blocks.

+ Develop specifications and sketches for parts or products as needed.

+ Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining problems.

+ Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

+ Perform preventive maintenance and document work shift activities.

Essential Skills

+ 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.

+ Proficiency in CNC equipment program editing.

+ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

+ Strong blueprint reading skills for grinding diameters and shapes.

+ Capability to grind parts to specified tolerances using measuring devices.

+ Physical ability to routinely lift 50 lbs or more.

+ Comfortable working in narrow spaces and performing physical tasks such as climbing and kneeling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with blueprint interpretation and CNC programming.

+ Understanding of machinability of materials and layout techniques.

+ Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams.
