Wash/Disinfect Crew

Full Time – Hourly

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation packag** **e** **. The base hiring pay for this role is** **$20.30** **per hour** **.

Job Responsibilities

+ To wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner, ensuring that all company policies are followed

+ Assist all support areas of breeder production

+ Work occasional weekends washing unless otherwise instructed

+ Perform repairs, maintenance on equipment, and construction on projects as assigned by supervisor

+ Follow sanitation and isolation procedures using tracking patterns

+ Follow safety policies and procedures as recommended

+ Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis to receive work orders as needed

+ Other duties as assigned by supervisor

+ Assist on vaccinations and insemination occasionally when not washing

Minimum Qualifications

+ Basic math skills/able to read and write at 4th grade level

+ Able to work scheduled weekends and holidays

+ Supply reliable transportation for travel to work sites and meet all sanitation requirements

+ Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)

+ Able to work in a smoke free environment/Must be 21 yrs. old and able to obtain a Medical Card

+ Must possess a valid driver's license & able to meet JOTS driving qualifications

+ PHYSICAL: Work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection

+ Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal-no beards

+ Twisting/stooping/bending/squat/reach while handling turkeys/fee/letter/equipment 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. from occasionally to a frequent basis

+ Able to work on uneven surfaces

Preferred Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Previous animal husbandry experience and/or a farm background (two years)

+ Bobcat tractor experience

+ Able to use and operate high pressure washer

+ Small engine/pump repair experience

+ Able to operate a scissor lift
