    *This is a benefited, full time position generally working 8-hr day shifts Monday-Friday with varied start times. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic in Encinitas. Required to float to Scripps Jefferson (in Oceanside) based on department needs. *

    *What you'll do: *

    * Scribing/Starting Notes for Providers

    * Order and referral Entry

    * Documentation of Patient Encounters

    * Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Spine Preferred

    * Rooming patients

    * Checking vitals

    * Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols

    * Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment

    * Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice

    * Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person

    * Collecting patient data in person and by phone

    * Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review

    * Complete and accurate message taking

    * Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction

    * Basic registration and updating of demographics

    *Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:*

    * Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

    *Required Certification/Registration:*

    * BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

    *Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:*

    * One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting

    * Previous experience in Orthopedic Surgery

    * Scribing experience
