    Now Hiring: Data Center Technicians (L2, L3, L4, Lead)

     

    Pay Rate: Up to $49.50/hr

    About the Role

    We are seeking highly skilled Data Center Technicians to join our IT operations team. Multiple levels are available, including Lead Technician, L4, L3, and L2. Technicians will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced hardware systems, including large-scale GPU installations, servers, networking equipment, and cabling infrastructure within an enterprise data center environment.

    Shift Schedules

    + A Side Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

    + A Side Nights: Same days, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

    + B Side Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM

    + B Side Nights: Same days, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM

    Key Responsibilities

    + Perform break-fix and deployment tasks for GPUs, servers, network devices, and cabling.

    + Manage and resolve IT service tickets using ITSM tools.

    + Land, move, and install fully populated GPU or network racks, including baying, leveling, grounding, hot-air containment, and cable tray management.

    + Interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure all required materials are present.

    + Install, test, and label copper and fiber optic cabling (Cat5, Cat6, SM, MM, MPO).

    + Handle and install optical modules (SFP, QSFP) and scope/clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO).

    + Rack and stack equipment, patch fiber and copper cables, and ensure all cabling is neat and compliant with standards.

    + Troubleshoot hardware issues, isolate problems, and perform component replacements.

    + Update firmware, configure IP addresses, and assist with server/network device setup.

    + Collaborate with network administrators to resolve connectivity issues and support device configuration.

    + Audit servers and consumables, document progress, and communicate updates using MS Office and digital photos.

    + Lead and manage teams, prioritize workloads, and serve as a liaison between team members and management (Lead Technician role).

    + Review build documentation, direct build activities, and ensure alignment with data center standards.

    + Monitor project deadlines, provide status updates, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

    + Travel as required for project needs.

    Qualifications

    + Lead Technician: 5+ years of lead or management experience in a data center or IT environment.

    + L4 Technician: 5+ years of dedicated data center experience, including troubleshooting large GPU deployments.

    + L3 Technician: 3+ years of data center experience.

    + L2 Technician: Now hiring—requirements align with foundational data center skills and experience.

    + Proven experience with hardware deployment, installation, and cabling.

    + Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling technologies (copper, fiber, routing, dressing, connectors).

    + Experience with optical modules and fiber cleaning.

    + Familiarity with telecom engineering designs for enterprise-level data centers.

    + Ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and work under pressure.

    + Willingness to travel as needed.

    + Excellent communication and documentation skills.

    Top Skills

    + Data center deployment and troubleshooting (3–7+ years preferred)

    + GPU deployment experience (highly desirable)

    + Hardware installation and cabling expertise

    This is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $49.50/hr.
