**Northrop Grumman is seeking Systems Engineers** for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Space sector in **Aurora, CO** .
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Assist in the development and documentation of system requirements, specifications, and design solutions
+ Participate in systems engineering analyses, including trade studies, modeling, and simulations
+ Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities to ensure project milestones are met
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to system-level solutions
+ Assist in preparation of technical reports, presentations, and other deliverables for internal or customer reviews
+ Conduct research and gather data to support engineering assessments and decision-making
+ Perform tasks related to configuration management, risk assessment, and requirement verification/validation
•** **Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
+ Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026
+ Be majoring in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
+ Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during **summer 2026.**
+ Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
+ Basic knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes, and methodologies (e.g., requirements management, systems architecture, integration, etc.)
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
+ Top Secret / SCI Clearance required to start
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
+ Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler, or similar systems engineering software
+ Understanding of system modeling (MBSE - Model-Based Systems Engineering) concepts and methodologies
+ Basic knowledge of relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java)
+ Experience with design, testing, or debugging of hardware/software systems (academic or personal projects)
+ Exposure to Agile development methodologies or project lifecycle management
Intern Pay Range:
Bachelor’s: $20.50 to $38.00 per hour
Master’s: $29.75 to $46.75 per hour
At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
