    Weld Inspector (AISC or AWS)

     

    Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

    Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM

    Compensation: $30 - $35 per hour. Excellent benefits package.

     

    Industry: Miscellaneous steel fabrication projects

    Weld Inspector (AISC or AWS) Responsibilities:

    + Performs weld inspections along with non-destructive testing and interrupts results.

    + General dimensional inspection and first article inspection on cut parts and machined parts

    + Creates and completes general inspection reports

    + Qualifies Welders on our staff by conducting welding tests and evaluating performance

    + Monitor welding activities

    + Inspections on received raw material (plate or pipe, etc.)

    + Helps management achieve and maintain AISC audit readiness.

    + Works with production staff and management team.

    + Creates and completes Inspection Reports.

    + Identify and report any non-conformances or non-conforming material.

    + Perform other duties as directed by the Corporate Quality & Service Engineer.

    Weld Inspector (AISC or AWS) Requirements:

    + High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school studies are preferred.

    + Weld Inspector certification is required at time of interview, preferably from

    + American Welding Society (AWS) or American Institute of Steel Construction

    + Must be proficient on computer to type reports, save & manage files and email customers / engineers.

    + Must be confident speaker, well written and possess time management skills

    + Need to be available to work overtime as needed

    + Proficient at reading engineering drawings, plans and blueprints

    + Ability to interpret and explain codes, standards and other quality control requirements.

    + CAD/Drafting experience is preferred but not required
