Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Technician supports daily production by troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, automation controls, and light mechanical components across a wide range of CNC and automated manufacturing equipment. This role requires advanced diagnostic skills, strong attention to safety, and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot, install, and repair all aspects of automation and CNC machinery.
+ Support equipment involving PLC programming, minor program edits, HMI programming, servo controllers, and industrial communication systems.
+ Plan and install primary and secondary controls, diagnose electrical/electronic failures, and repair or replace components as required.
+ Identify and replace defective control modules; test and validate equipment functionality.
+ Update and prepare wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and documentation to reflect changes.
+ Perform mechanical repairs as needed. (All technicians, regardless of pay grade, participate in mechanical work where required.)
+ Support daily **continuous improvement** (CIP/Kaizen) initiatives.
+ Record completed and in-progress work within the SAP work order system.
+ Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and arc flash protocols.
+ Perform any additional duties needed to support production and equipment uptime.
Qualifications
+ Minimum **4 years of experience** in a manufacturing environment working with automation, CNC controls, robotics, PLCs, PCs, and HMIs.
+ Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical prints, schematics, and OEM equipment documentation.
+ Strong understanding of industrial communication systems (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, serial protocols) and communication cable/LAN components.
+ Fully competent working safely inside electrical control panels at various voltage levels.
+ Qualified to work on 3-phase systems up to **480V** , following all PPE and safety procedures.
+ Strong computer skills, problem-solving ability, and mechanical aptitude.
+ Effective communication, teamwork, and customer service attitude.
+ Experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs.
+ Experience with Arc Flash Safety requirements (NFPA 70E).
+ **Electrician license** (state or journeyman)— _preferred_ .
