    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is looking for a Mobile Device Administrator who will support and manage all mobile devices. The Administrator must have a strong background in enterprise information systems management to include security, mobile device management and systems administration. Acquiring, integrating, deploying and supporting mobile devices in the enterprise will be the primary function of this position. This position will also provide technical software advice for complex systems and make decisions on operating procedures and analytical approaches.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

     

    + Manage and support the acquisition and inventory of mobile devices for the Department; this includes the all air cards, smartphones, cell phones, etc.

    + Maintain and support Mobile Device Management administration and monitoring tools such as AirWatch, Good for Enterprise, MaaS360, or BoxTone.

    + Maintain and administer mobile device operating systems.

    + Administer all mobile device accounts with cellular providers and in the Mobile Device Management tool; adds, modifies, and deletes of user accounts.

    + Ensure device profiles are up to date with latest operating systems and ensure devices are in compliance with security requirements.

    + Manage, maintain, support, troubleshoot and optimize mobile solution presently in place while making suggestions and adjustments to future needs.

    + Assist end users via telephone, e-mail, with a wide range of questions, problems and requests with their device connectivity needs.

    + Distribute enterprise applications for mobile devices.

    + Train end users on mobile device technology.

    + Plan, create and deploy security and device management policies.

    + Keep abreast of what the future is bringing in terms of new products and enhancements to products and how those changes affect our company plans.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

    + Professional experience administering enterprise-level mobile device management applications managing 500 or more mobile devices in an enterprise environment.

    + Professional experience working in a public safety/law enforcement setting.

     

    Job Related Requirements

     

    + The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant’s criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.

    + Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., although working after hours and on weekends may occasionally be required.

    General Information

     

    + The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

    + Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.

    + FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
