    Special Education Teacher | Rio Rancho, NM | Full-Time | 21-Week Contract | $42–$47/hr Local

     

    Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide quality services to students in an elementary cross-categorical classroom. This role involves collaboration with general education staff and participation in planning and implementing individualized student programs.

    Position Overview

    + Location: Rio Rancho, NM

    + Start Date: December 8, 2025

    + Duration: 21 weeks

    + Openings: 1 position

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday

    + Hours: 37.5 hours/week

    + Modality: In-person only

    + Pay:

    + Level 1 License: $42/hr (Local)

    + Level 2 License: $45/hr (Local)

    + Level 3 License: $47/hr (Local)

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide specialized instruction and support for students with diverse needs

    + Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to implement individualized programs

    + Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

    + Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to professional standards of practice

    Minimum Requirements

    + Valid New Mexico Teaching Certificate (Special Education)

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

    + Minimum of one year teaching experience (school-based preferred)

    + Current CPR certification, if applicable

    + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable

    + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
