Lead EC Teacher – Adapted Curriculum (K-8 Charter School)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to manage a self-contained adapted classroom serving 4 students (grades K-6) with the support of 1–2 teaching assistants. The teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing IEPs for all students and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Schedule: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM | 37.5 hrs/week
Start Date: December 7, 2025 | Duration: 25 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead instruction in a self-contained classroom for students with significant needs.
+ Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
+ Collaborate with teaching assistants and related service providers.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
Requirements:
+ NCDPI EC Adapted Curriculum License (or out-of-state license with Bachelor’s/Master’s in Special Education and application to NCDPI).
+ Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in special education.
+ Strong knowledge of adapted curriculum strategies and compliance standards.
