    Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse – Tewksbury, MA

     

    Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical/Surgical RN to provide high-quality patient care and demonstrate strong clinical judgment in a collaborative environment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state hospital setting and make a meaningful impact.

    Position Details

    + Location: Tewksbury, MA

    + Facility Type: State Hospital

    + Duration: 13 weeks to start, with strong potential for extension

    + Pay: $3,500-$4,000/week

    + Openings: Full-time (Mon-Fri and every other weekend)

    + 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

    + 3rd Shift: 11:15 PM – 7:15 AM

    Key Responsibilities

    + Deliver nursing care in accordance with professional standards, hospital policies, and certification requirements.

    + Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.

    + Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.

    + Educate patients on personal hygiene and health management.

    + Supervise and mentor nursing staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

    + Respond to changes in patient conditions promptly and document appropriately.

    + Maintain compliance with DMH regulations, CMS, The Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards.

    + Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and progressive disciplinary processes as needed.

    + Support patients through counseling and group work to maintain a therapeutic environment.

    Required Qualifications

    + Current RN license

    + Medical/Surgical experience

    + Strong communication and critical thinking skills

    + Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

    + Knowledge of nursing principles and mental health care

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Psychiatric nursing experience

    + Bilingual or multilingual skills
