The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
The Strategic Analyst provides subject matter expertise to the organization in developing and implementing strategic goals and objectives. Will work to positively impact customer needs and Amentum corporate goals for profit and sustainability. This position ensures mission and team success through innovative solutions and collaboration with cross functional organizational groups.
Responsibilities:
• Support Executive leadership in the development and execution of strategic plans.
o Understanding and communicating contract requirements.
o Apply current mission objectives to contract obligations to expose risks and opportunities.
• Facilitate strategy planning sessions to assess and maintain strategic alignment, planning, and relevancy between.
o Apply “risks and opportunities” insights to operating plans.
• Lead the development of comprehensive multi-year strategic roadmaps.
o Understand program schedules as they evolve between launches to expose risks and opportunities from a business perspective (not merely operations).
• Ensure high-level initiatives align with business and mission objectives.
• Lead strategy sessions with senior leadership and key stakeholders to track progress, highlight and mitigate unnecessary risk, and ensure daily operations align with key transformation initiatives for business, financial, and operational efficiencies.
• Partner with finance and budget planning leadership to develop financial strategic plans through in-depth analysis of the organization's finances.
o Develop and monitor insight metrics and Key Performance Indicators that cause improved leadership insight and proactive decisions.
• Provide input to the organizations transformation initiatives to improve operational effectiveness through process improvement and efficiencies.
• Identify and develop new business partnership opportunities to aid in business development growth for the organization.
• Effectively captures the organizations lessons learned, utilizing them as an investment into the future.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in related area and 15 years of experience.
• Subject matter expert in government contracting.
• Strong business acumen.
• Highly adaptable and resilient professional with a keen ability to assess situational needs, adopt the appropriate leadership approach, and implement organizational efficiencies that drive team success and foster confidence.
• Proven ability to build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships by working effectively with diverse groups to achieve shared goals and long-term success; ability to work with and influence across cross-functional groups.
• Skilled in initiating and leading diverse projects from concept to completion, ensuring successful implementation through strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and results-driven execution.
Physical Requirements:
• Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing
• Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures
• Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency
• Work Environment
o Work will mainly be done inside
o All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
o Attendance - full-time regular work hours between Monday-Friday.
o Position will require occasional overtime, including in-week, weekend and holiday work depending on task with limited remote/offsite work
o Must be dependable and punctual
o This is a 1st Shift position but may require occasions of 2nd and 3rd shift support
o Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication
o Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/ hazard to the employee or others
o Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company,which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
o Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
