Job Summary
Are you a student seeking hands-on experience in a dynamic corporate environment? As an Office Student at Vermeer, you’ll support a variety of business functions including Sales, Legal, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Communications, and more by assisting with administrative, customer service, and project-related tasks. This seasonal role offers the opportunity to learn core office processes, contribute to team goals, and develop skills for future career growth in a professional setting.
What You’ll Do:
1. Assist with customer service and administrative support by answering phones, responding to emails, collecting data, and assisting internal and external customers across departments such as Finance, Communications, Dealer Support, and Human Resources.
2. Accurately enter data and maintain records in designated computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] systems such as SAP or Oracle, document management platforms), supporting documentation, compliance, and reporting needs.
3. Communicate information to other departments and team members, supporting collaboration and project execution through email, meetings, and shared digital workspaces.
4. Support process improvements, special projects, and training initiatives by collaborating with business leaders and cross-functional teams (e.g., assisting with onboarding, training modules, or communications campaigns).
5. Perform basic functions in office software and digital tools, such as Microsoft Excel for data analysis, Microsoft Word for documentation, and email platforms for correspondence.
6. Maintain positive working relationships, follow detailed directions, and contribute to a team environment focused on meeting deadlines and quality standards.
7. Demonstrate Vermeer’s caring culture, agility, customer focus, and stewardship in all interactions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent by the start of employment.
- Must be currently pursuing a post-secondary degree or credential (associate’s, bachelor’s, or equivalent) at an accredited institution, with full-time student status following completion of the summer student experience.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures and directions.
- Willingness to learn and perform basic functions in office software, digital tools, and computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, document management platforms).
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, maintaining positive interpersonal relationships and commitment to Vermeer’s caring culture, agility, customer focus, and stewardship.
- Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while supporting the department and collaborating across teams.
Travel:
- No travel is expected for this position.
Work Location
HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
